Hello my name is Sinem and I am a Clinical Psychologist offering remote/online therapy.

I have over 10 years experience of working within the NHS in a variety of settings including adult and child mental health services, health psychology and neuropsychological services (assessment and rehabilitation). 

My main specialism involves delivering evidence-based cognitive behaviour therapy to a  range of difficulties including depression, general anxiety, social anxiety, post-traumatic stress, OCD, panic, health anxiety and phobias including emetophobia. In addition to CBT, I use compassion focused therapy to help people develop a kinder approach to their difficulties.

I am passionate about helping people understand what is keeping their difficulties going, learning skills to overcome them and to live a life that is meaningful to them. I believe that working together and forming a strong therapeutic relationship is essential to gaining positive outcomes and reaching therapy goals. I am friendly, warm and laid back and endeavour to help my clients feel supported throughout their therapy journey.

  • Anxiety difficulties including OCD, health anxiety, general anxiety, panic, social anxiety, post-traumatic stress and PTSD as well as phobias
  • Low mood and depression
  • Low self-esteem
  • Anxiety/low mood in the context of Autism Spectrum Condition and/or ADHD
  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, compassion focused therapy

Background:

I completed my MSc and doctoral training at The Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience, King’s College London and have also undertaken postgraduate training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). I offer remote therapy online. 

I am also fluent in Swedish and can offer assessment and treatment in Swedish.

I am fully registered with the Health Care Professional Council as a Registered Clinical Psychologist: PYL35344.

I work with cigna and aviva insurer providers.

Research Interests:

My research interest has mainly focused on aspects related to improving access to psychological therapy services. Furthermore my doctoral thesis looked at the impact of activity levels and stigma in a group of young people with unusual experiences.
