About Me
I am an HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist and CBT therapist in London. I have trained and worked in the NHS, supporting adults and adolescents experiencing a range of difficult emotional, relational, neurodevelopmental, and mental health challenges. Navigating the impact that mental health and trauma can have on our relationships, our emotions, and our sense of safety can feel incredibly daunting, shameful, and lonely. It is my priority to provide a calm, grounded, and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard and seen. Feedback from my clients has highlighted my capacity to provide an emotionally containing space, even when sharing some of the most difficult experiences, thoughts, and memories of their lives.
I work collaboratively with clients to help them understand their experiences of mental health and trauma, how these play out in the present day, and how to break unhelpful patterns, moving towards a life that feels more insightful, meaningful, and fulfilling.
My approach is adapted to you and your needs. I use evidence-based therapies that can balance practical coping strategies with deeper explorations of experience and meaning. Drawing from both my clinical experience and academic expertise, I can integrate mental health with neurobiological knowledge, alongside social, familial, and systemic perspectives, to provide a comprehensive holistic approach to therapy.
I have worked with many adults, adolescents, families, and carers across a wide range of cultural, sexual, gender, religious, and neurodiverse backgrounds. I am deeply committed to providing informed and inclusive care, ensuring therapy is adapted to your unique experiences and background.
I have experience working with:
- Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and appearance anxiety, adapted for neurodiverse clients.
- Anxiety and related presentations: Social anxiety, panic disorder, agoraphobia, specific phobias, perfectionism, health anxiety and generalised anxiety.
- Acute and complex trauma: Clients with a history of sexual trauma, domestic violence, verbal and emotional abuse, neglect, discrimination, identity and systemic abuse, bereavement and loss, and peer-related bullying. Acute single-incident post-
traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and related symptoms (hypervigilance, flashbacks, nightmares, dissociation with depersonalisation and derealisation). - Mood, self-worth, and burnout: Depression (including lethargy, anhedonia, relational, and existential loss), low self-esteem and chronic self-criticism, stress and burnout, and sleep difficulties or insomnia.
- Emotional and interpersonal difficulties: Navigating relationship dynamics with partners, family, friends, and colleagues, addressing shame, and working through interpersonal conflict.
Ways of working:
I work with a range of therapies, including cognitive-behavioural, psychodynamic, and systemic narrative models. My primary approaches include:
– Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
– Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)
– Trauma-focused therapy
My practice also draws on models below, where appropriate:
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT)
- Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT)
- Mentalisation-Based Therapy (MBT)
Research, Innovation and Teaching
My background in advanced clinical research and NHS frontline psychological care means my practice is grounded in the latest scientific evidence, while remaining human and compassionate.
I hold a PhD in Clinical Neuroscience and have co-authored over 40 scientific publications. I have conceived and led multiple large-scale clinical research projects in psychiatry, neurology, and mental health, with my latest research examining the causes of OCD, BDD, and hoarding. I have designed clinical models that are used in clinical trials and have applied the latest technologies and methodologies to advance our understanding of multiple presentations.
I have lectured and provided workshops across several MSc postgraduate courses at King’s College London, covering mental health, psychiatry, neurology, clinical research, and statistics.
