Adult and Child Mental Health, Neurodevelopmental Conditions (ASC, ADHD)

Hello, my name is Katrina and I am a Clinical Psychologist based in East Dulwich. I completed my clinical psychology doctoral training at Kings College London and have worked across a wide range of settings including adult mental health, child and adolescent mental health (CAMHS), older adults, acute inpatient services, child neuropsychology and paediatric health psychology. I have specialist training in neurodevelopmental and learning assessments and have worked in NHS assessment services at leading London hospitals (Kings College Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital).
Although I am trained in a range of therapies, I primarily use Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Narrative Therapy. I have experience working with a wide range of difficulties including low self-esteem, anxiety, emotional dysregulation, self-harm, low mood in children and adults. I have a special interest and experience in working with emotion-based school avoidance (EBSA) and other school-based difficulties (e.g., bullying, behaviour, friendships).
My main area of expertise and interest is in working with children and adults with neurodevelopmental conditions including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). I can provide therapy that is tailored to you or your child, adapted for ASC and ADHD (and other learning or social communication difficulties), help with understanding you or your child’s diagnosis and recommendations for support at school and work. For adolescents and adults, I can provide ADHD coaching to help you learn strategies to manage ADHD related difficulties and support you with adjustments for school, university and work.
I am a compassionate and creative therapist whose goal is to provide a confidential and non-judgemental space for you or your child to share your difficulties and to work together to reach your therapeutic goals.

Research & Innovation
My doctoral research focused on the development, maintenance and treatment of self-esteem in young people and the impact of stigma experiences and bullying on self-esteem. Other areas of research are understanding the impact of neurological health conditions (e.g., multiple sclerosis) on cognitive function, personality and quality of life. I am also interested in using novel imaging techniques and virtual reality for measuring the structure and function of the brain in mental health conditions.
